Unistar Credit and Finance Corporation was incorporated in the Philippines primarily to engage in the business of a financing company by extending credit facilities to individuals and to industrial, commercial or agricultural enterprises, whether natural or juridical persons by means of discounting or factoring commercial papers or accounts receivable; buying and selling contract leases, chattel mortgages or other evidence of indebtedness; and leasing motor vehicles, heavy equipment, appliances and other movable properties. The Company was registered with the SEC on July 22, 2005 as a finance company under Republic Act No. 8556 (The Financing Company Act of 1998).
The Company's primary business is financing the purchase of motorcycles from its three affiliated companies namely, Gentrade International Philippines, Inc., Metrocycle World Corporation, and Powercycle, Inc. Unistar has 21 offices located in strategic areas in Metro Manila and across key cities and regional centers nationwide where clusters of GIPI, MWC and PCI stores are situated. The Company also has representatives stationed at selected Transcycle and Powercycle stores.
As of December 2011, the Retail Group operates153 stores nationwide doing business under the trade names Powercycle and Transcycle. Powercycle carries only Honda-branded motorcycles and Transcycle carriesall four major Japanese brands of motorcycle unit namely Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.
The company offers fast processing of applications with low down payments and easy monthly amortization of 12, 24 and 36 months. Unistar provides installment payments for institutional accounts, whether for their operations or employee needs. Unistar also caters to the Tricycles, Operators and Drivers Association or TODA. Moving forward, Unistar will also provide financial assistance to teachers, provide truck financing and salary loans in its pursuit to uplift Filipino lives.
